The Wine & Cheese Social

Each year the Point Grey Mini School Services Society holds a social Wine & Cheese with the goal of raising enough money to pay for expenses incurred by the school for a variety of things not covered by school's allotment of funds from the Ministry of Education.  Funds raised in the past have paid for in part or in full such things as: the Mini's computer lab; field trips; improved sound system, etc.  All of the money raised is used by the teachers and staff at the Mini to provide the best educational experience possible.  The majority of funds are raised through our Direct Drive, and additional funds are raise through donations of products and gifts from shops in our community.

The other benefit of the Wine & Cheese is that it is really a lot of fun and a great way to become better acquainted with other members of the Mini family.

The format is a BYOB/Potluck where each family brings a bottle of wine or other beverage of their choice and a small savory or sweet finger food item (about 6 - 10 servings).

The 2017 Wine & Cheese will take place Saturday, November 25th at 2351 West 35th between Vine & Larch.  Please mark your calendars and plan to attend.

When soliciting donations for the silent auction, please note:
  • if the donor would like a tax receipt they must provide us with the full name of the donor (individual or business name), address and an email address. Tax receipts will only be delivered by email. 
  • if you solicit a donation please ensure that the item is delivered to host family by the day before.  If you are unable to pick up the item, please contact one of the members of the Wine & Cheese committee.  You can find our names and email addresses on the Volunteers page for Wine & Cheese.
  • once you have acquired items for the Silent Auction they will need to added to our list of items.  You can do this yourself on the web site by going to the Parents section and clicking on Wine & Cheese Social.  You’ll see a button to log your auction item. 
The Wine & Cheese Fundraiser is over for this school year. Thank you to all the volunteers and parents who came and bid on auction items. We couldn't have done it without you. See you next year.
